Tournament operator Perfect World Esports has announced that the second Counter-Strike 2 major of 2027 will take place in Shanghai. The event, designated as The Winter 2027 Major, is scheduled to run at the end of the year through November and December.
This will mark the second CS2 major organized by Perfect World in China. Previously, the operator hosted the Shanghai Major in 2024, where Team Spirit claimed the championship title after defeating FaZe Clan in the final match.
With this announcement, Shanghai becomes the first city in Counter-Strike history to host more than one major outside of Europe. Meanwhile, the next upcoming major is scheduled to begin this November in Singapore, organized by PGL.
