Relog Media has announced the launch of a new CS2 tournament titled the TESLA CUP. The LAN event is scheduled to take place in Belgrade from October 27 to October 29. With a prize pool of $50,000, the tournament is positioned as a significant opportunity for Tier-2 teams to secure essential VRS points shortly before the final deadline for invitations to the PGL Singapore Major 2026.
The competition will feature eight teams, selected based on their standing in the October global VRS rankings. To be eligible, teams must submit an application, and those that qualify will be required to pay a $2,000 participation fee. Registration for the event is slated to open on October 3 and will remain active until October 15. The tournament format consists of a GSL group stage followed by a playoffs bracket, with all matches to be played as best-of-three series at the Relog Media studio.
The announcement has generated controversy regarding the regulations for Tier-2 tournaments. Observers have pointed out that Valve’s rules require a specific interval between the announcement of a tournament and the opening of registration.
