The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, in partnership with investment firm Silver Lake, is preparing a takeover proposal for game engine developer Unity.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the potential transaction could reach approximately 25 billion dollars. The negotiation process is facilitated by the fact that Silver Lake is already one of the largest institutional shareholders in Unity, holding roughly 8 percent of the company shares.
This potential acquisition would mark another phase in the Saudi fund’s expansion within the gaming industry, following its recent takeover of publisher Electronic Arts for 55 billion dollars.
