Kojima Productions has officially announced that the total number of players across the Death Stranding franchise has reached 28 million. The milestone was revealed to mark the seventh anniversary of the original game, which was released on November 8, 2019.
The reported player statistics encompass the original Death Stranding, the expanded Director’s Cut edition, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach across all supported platforms. The developers clarified that the 28 million figure represents total players rather than physical or digital sales copies.
This cumulative total includes users who purchased the titles as well as individuals who accessed them through subscription services like PC Game Pass or through promotional giveaways on the Epic Games Store. Previously, the franchise had crossed the 27 million user milestone at the end of July 2026.
